Inclusion

The ISB visits seven or eight Salvation Army centres each year presenting concerts and leading worship on a Sunday and Inclusion contains just some of the music that the band has been featuring during these weekends and will continue to use into 2015. We are also pleased to be featuring a composition by Brass Band composer Stephen Roberts (flugel horn solo ‘Be thou my vision’) which is his first contribution to The Salvation Army. Other tracks include some of our regular composers such as Paul Sharman (title track Inclusion) and Kenneth Downie ('Sunset over the River Exe', a reflective melody that includes the hymn tune St Clements). The major work on this album Fantasia on ‘Glory to His name’ was written specially for the ISB by LSO principal trombonist Dudley Bright who is also a member of the Regent Hall Salvation Army in London. The piece is a ‘salute’ to Ray Steadman-Allen in recognition for the outstanding contribution he has made to music within the Salvation Army. Lighter moments come from opposites sides of the world, firstly Australian salvationist Brian Hogg (‘Gigue: Alleluia, Amen!’) and America with Stephen Bulla (Mission Force).
